SUMMER ENTERTAINMENT

June 13th, 2008 by davide

Coming to a park near you, MOVIES!  Estelline Horizon has partnered with the Estelline Area Economic Development to purchase a 16 by 9 foot inflatable movie screen and system.  Plans are currently underway to have free summer time movies in the park.  If you would like to help with this great outreach project, help is needed to work concessions and with the setup and takedown of the system.  Contact David Ebbers at 873-2261, 886-8786 or davide@reliabank.com.  Let hear back as to ideas for movies and other uses or places and events for the equipment.

We have been talking about purchasing an inflatable screen for Rutland, ND. It is 30 miles to the nearest theater & with gas prices being what they are, we thought it might be a something to have. What was the cost of the inflatable screen & where did you get it? Did you use money from your Horizon budget to pay part of the cost? Our concern on having an inflatable screen is the wind. I picture the screen floating over South Dakota on a windy day or maybe even Canada depending on which way the wind is blowing. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

What happened to Harvey’s idea of movies at the garden — or maybe in the Arena while the days are still long. Lets have some garden or food-related films to start maybe ‘The Secret Garden’ or Ratatoulle.
I can help with concessions on non-Farmers’ Mkt days.
    Linda
